The wedding will be in the village of Varenna which lies on Lake Como's East Shore. It is a picturesque small town sitting at the base of the surrounding mountains, right on the lake. Varenna is a short ferry ride from Bellagio, a better known tourist destination. The wedding will take place in the Villa Cipressi and will be a whole day event. We have booked the entire villa, so we have complete run of the place. There are beautiful gardens where one can sit, relax, and enjoy the gorgeous views.

The
Villa Cipressi is the yellow building seen on the "Save the Date" cards
and above.
Here is some info from their brochure: "Villa Cipressi is a complex
of historical buildings and luscious gardens built between 1400 and 1800.
Its former owners include the noble Serponti family (1169), Baron Isimbaldi
(late 1700s) the Andreosii family, who took particular care of the park,
Sir Astley and Sir Salton (early 1900s) and its final owner, the Accame
publishing company. The villa and gardens were purchased by the residents
and friends of Varenna by voluntary subscription in 1980. The facilities
were those destined for public use and are currently owned by several Public
Authorities (mainly the municipality of Varenna)."
